Unfortunately the department has a significant waiting list for long term support services.   The only exception is the Birth To Three program, which does not permit a waiting list.

New referrals for services should expect to wait 8 - 10 years to receive funding for most services. 

Consequently, individuals, their parents or guardians, or other interested parties, should consider this fact when seeking or encouraging individuals to pursue eligibility determination.

Individuals placed on the waiting list must have an immediate need for the program(s) being requested, and be willing to accept funding immediately if offered.  They must be a resident of the tri-county.

The waiting list is updated every six months, and individuals are notified of their current status at that time.
