  What is Developmental Disability?
  • A disability that occurs before age 22

    -prader-willie syndrome
    -brain injury
    -traumatic brain injury
    -cerebral palsy
    -epilepsy
    -autism
    -mental retardation (cognitively disabled with a full scale IQ of 75 or below)
    -neurological condition (closely related to mental retardation or requiring similar treatment)
     
  • Can be expected to continue indefinitely
  • Constitutes a substantial handicap to the afflicted individual
